Orthographic Exercise

Orthographic drawings, I hate. I find them to be extremely hard! At the very beginning I felt like I sort of had control over them, but as we had to keep doing exercises I seemed to never get them right. I feel like the more detailed the structure, the harder it is for me to visualize the missing sides.

Woodland Chapel - poche'

Out of the two houses Stoel had us draw, I found this one to be way more difficult. Some of the lines were so small they were had to get exact measurements. However, one the structure was drawn as a whole, the shading part was relatively "easy" it was just extremely time consuming.

Stick & Cell Phones

At first, I had no idea where this stick & cell phone idea was going. However after drawing these 16, I realized how many different ways I could see something so simple.

Stick & Cell Phones

This was my set of 32, then 16, then 8 drawings of both the twig & cell phone combined. I thought this was really interesting because it took time to look through all 128 drawings and create ones to combine together to make an interesting piece. The harder part I felt came after the 32, when we had to keep down-sizing each set.

Stick & Cell Phones

These were my 64 drawings of the twig and then the cell phone. I found this exercise very time-consuming because there were many angles to draw both objects from, however it began to feel like I was running out of ideas towards the end.

Stick & Cell Phones

This was my final four stick/cell phone picture. I find it interesting how it turned out despite the many different combinations I had. However, I felt that these four really displayed the shape & texture of both the twig and cell phone.
